Beyond Care

Comprehensive. Compassionate. Relationship driven.

Wellness and Preventive Care
Wellness and preventive care provide a strong foundation for your pet’s overall health and happiness. Without routine care, your pet can develop many preventable conditions, such as dental disease, heartworm disease, and tick-borne illnesses, that significantly affect their health. Wellness care also helps us detect diseases in their earliest stages, when treatment is often less invasive and more successful.

Our Goal Although your pet may appear to be perfectly healthy, regular wellness visits are a vital part of their veterinary care. At your furry pal’s wellness visit, our team will:

  • Conduct a thorough physical exam to check for hidden illness
  • Administer lifestyle-appropriate vaccinations
  • Perform screening tests
  • Discuss nutrition, diet, and exercise
  • Solve behavior issues
Overall, our goal is to provide recommendations on how to prevent illness and disease in your four-legged friend, and to ensure their continued good health for years to come. Wellness Visits

Preventive Care Preventive care is essential for keeping your pet healthy and for warding off more serious illnesses, such as those they can contract from wildlife, parasites, or other pets. This crucial part of your furry pal’s veterinary care consists of vaccinations, parasite prevention, and screening tests. Although every pet requires preventive care, our team takes an individualized approach to their care, rather than providing cookie-cutter services to all. During your pet’s wellness visit, we will assess their health, lifestyle, exposure risk, and potential for developing diseases, and create a customized preventive care plan. This ensures your pet receives the vaccinations, testing, and prevention they need, and nothing that they don’t.

Each year, approximately 10 million pets are lost and many end up in animal shelters, waiting to be reunited with their families. However, only about 15% of dogs and 2% of cats without microchips find their way home again.

To help provide a happy reunion with your lost pet, we offer microchipping during any appointment. A microchip is no bigger than a grain of rice, and is inserted just under your pet’s skin, similar to the procedure used to give vaccinations. If your pet becomes lost, their microchip can be scanned at an animal shelter or veterinary hospital. A microchip transmits a unique identification number that is linked to your contact information, allowing your furry pal to be safely reunited with you.
